1. What makes Resilience Ed different from other school programs?

Resilience Ed focuses on recovery, not just prevention. We help students already struggling with addiction through:

  • 30-minute, during-school sessions (minimal disruption).

  • Evidence-based methods (CBT, peer support, trauma-informed care).

  • No stigma—privacy-protected and counselor-supported.

2. How do you protect student privacy?

  • Only simple behavior measures are taken over time. In class activities are self-reflective, including self-assessments.
  • School leadership oversight.
  • Anonymous feedback: Students share progress without names attached.

3. Will this take time away from academics?

  • Sessions are 30 minutes. Schools opt for them to take place once or twice a week.
  • Schools using Resilience Ed are measuring for better engagement in learning and increaed attendance post-program.

4. How is this program free for schools?

  • Resilience Ed is funded by:
  • Grants (e.g., Positive Behaviors Grant, Title IV Safe Schools).
  • Donations from local organizations.

5. What ages/grades is this for?

  • Designed for middle and high schoolers (grades 6–12),

6. How do you measure success?

We track:

  • Reduction in repeat offenses (e.g., vaping incidents).
  • Student self-reports on coping skills.
  • School data on absences/discipline referrals.

7. What if parents don’t want their child to participate?

  • Parents must opt-in before their student can attend. Schools can reccommend students, or open availability first-come, first-served.
  • No labeling: Sessions are framed as “wellness skills,” not “addiction treatment.”

8. How quickly can we launch Resilience Ed?

  • Typically 3–4 weeks after grant approval (we may help expedite applications).

9. What’s required from the school?

Just a couple of things:

  • Leadership approval.
  • Grant approval.
  • A staff liaison (e.g., counselor) to coordinate.
  • Space for sessions (e.g., empty classroom).
  • Obtain parent consent for their student to attend (e.g., surveys, emails, announcements).

10. How can I get this in my school?

Success Stories

L. N. - Teenager

I have the biggest trust issues out there and I trusted her with my issues. I was mentally ready and felt safe enough to take a step.

I was a nicotine addict for 1 year, 30$ every 2 weeks. And that was 5000 puffs (vape) – basically a hit every 10 minutes. I talked to Jenn, and you know what’s good? It took me way less time than I thought.

K. N. - Age 20

All I’m saying is, please get help… Pick the right person, someone who works because they want to, Ms. Jenn was the right person for me.

I was really shy, so all I did was listen and avoid eye contact. But it’s okay because Ms. Jenn got you. She is gentle, she listens to your silence, she hears your unspoken words.
